The Great Escape

Weekends, they don’t come better than this.
Where shall I start?
Well, here I am, in Manuel’s room, a very happy guest for the weekend with a very good friend. I’m listening to Tori Amos, moaning away, and while Manuel doesn’t like her, he let me download her .mp3s into his PC and play them. It was 10 a.m.

Marco’s Birthday

Woke up at half past six this morning just to go room-hunting. Didn’t go far. Just seeing the German-speaking competition withered me. Ga.
Had an interesting email from LT today, her first since I came her. Verbally banging me with such vigour I’ve not seen since our university days (still applies to me, I suppose). Told me

Yo-Yo

Today has been a complete yo-yo.
It started off like a dream — going to Studentenwerk and getting some numbers and calling up landlords and going as far as Arabellapark to these beautiful suburbs and even better house and the best room you can imagine. And the landlord whose German I can understand for some strange reason.

Never Ask The Lonely

I wonder if I am just lonely.
Never ask the lonely. They either won’t say a word, or they’ll pour everything out. Like I’m about to do (but which one?)
I’m getting so frustrated and depressed looking for a damn room here in Munich. It’s near impossible in this city. And the rates the ask! Highway robbery and

Somewhere I Know You’ll Be Her

When Tori performs here in Munich this December, the song I want to hear the most is “Somewhere Over The Rainbow”.
I know she doesn’t do covers often (but considering she’s released an entire album of just those, maybe) but this song will be it for me. Even more than my normal faves like “Doughnut Song”

A.I. — Affection Inherent

Finally watched A.I. today. Enjoyed it despite poor reviews from Monkey Boy or the girls. To be fair, they did say they would have enjoyed it if it had ended the way it seemed to have, instead of going on.
That pseudo-ending, I agree, with the kid robot in the ship under the sea, waiting for an

Drawing Girls

Tonight was the last night the girls are in Munich before they leave for Prague and Amsterdam, together with Monkey Boy. I invited them and the rest of the Family to dinner.
Feeling adventurous after my massive cookout during International Nite weeks before, I cooked them nasi lemak (coconut milk rice) and Szechuan spicy chicken with
