In no particular order…

1. Friday
The thing about taking a break is that, after awhile, you lose touch of the daily life of other people. People who make decisions, have to, unavoidably, everyday. It’s a nice escape while it lasted, but now it’s time for decisions again. Consider wisely, sir.

Triangle PoseI think I have spoken to just about everyone about whether to take up the BodyBalance instructor training or not: the instructors themselves (Klevin, Lin Li, Amanda), my home gym’s GX head honcho Alvin Looi, fellow gym-goers, friends…

When Riyo called me today, I was still wavering between my options. I ask her for advice, and she tells me that when she first started, she couldn’t even do push-ups. Now as the Group-X coordinator for Fitness First, she has six Les Mills programmes under her belt (currently running four of them). It’s amazing, quite simply amazing.

I guess it’s an opportunity for transformation, a personal journey of sorts to conquer your body, and along with that, more importantly, I feel, yourself. My friends to whom I babble daily about BodyBalance, yoga, the gym, etc. will not be surprised, and now that I recognise my passion, nor am I.

Boys and girls, I’m in.

2. Saturday
Skipped my normal 9:00am BodyBalance at Uptown (sorry, Klevin) and headed to The Curve instead to attend Riyo’s class at 10:00am. I don’t think I’ve really cosied up to this particular branch (The Curve); it just seems a bit sterile compared to Uptown, which feels warmer and friendlier. Maybe it’s the market segment of gym members (younger, trendier), or perhaps I am getting more than a tad fuddy-duddy in my old age. (Yes, Nisa, I know I’m only 28, whatever that’s worth.)

Riyo’s class was pregnancy-optional, meaning there were more than a couple of ladies well along the way, including a veteran BodyBalance instructor Cindy, who shared the stage with Riyo, doing the easier poses. Good class, and afterwards, Riyo corrected and improved several of my poses. Girl does a mean headstand too. The few members that stayed back for her impromptu “workshop” asked for an encore and clapped most appreciatively again.

This feels right, the energy.

Leaving never-was lovers behind, leaving the stresses and madness of all my days; where my true passion lies, some say, and may they be nice and accurate too…

3. Thursday
A holiday spent with my favourite Indonesian babe, Ms. Henny Haryaty. Lady wanted some tau foo fa (soybean curd in soy milk & dark ginger syrup), and of course used a walk in the park as an excuse to reel me in. We should have brought our shoes and jogged though, judging by the fast feet flashing by us at the TTDI Park.

And happily, we took pictures with Henny’s new digital camera. Bless.

Kenny -I’ve always felt V day (or is VD day) to be a bit too commercial. I usually stay home and WATCH TV (arghh!!)

    Richard,
The tau foo fa was indeed delicious, and we enjoyed it till the last slurp! You can find the mobile stall at the TTDI Park every day apparently.

    Tunku,
VD Day? Reminds me of when the Beckhams got married and decided to use their initials as an emblem: Victoria + David = VD. Yeah, truly in bad taste.

Then again, one could say the same about V-Day… ;)
