A Cup of Coffee

.

These days I don’t even have time for a cup of coffee. Snow White tells me coffee is bad for you. (Her secret to eternal youth is apparently no coffee, no tea, no air-conditioning while sleeping and running. Every day. Without fail.)

I would like to tell you that coffee is bad for you but these days I’m not around much to tell you this. I’m not around enough to monitor your intake; I can’t be your Caffeine Cop. Sure, you like coffee, I know, but not enough to become a caffeine addict. You could go months without a cup, you assure me. But you sure enjoy it when you do.

You always order kopi-O kaw. Thick, black coffee. Just a dash of sugar. White. None of that brown stuff (what a cop-out!) and no artificial sweetener nonsense either. It’s just sugar. It’s just coffee. You’re right, of course. We are not what we drink, after all.

But if we were, O how I would drink coffee everyday, bitter and strong, the aroma haunting me till the end of the day with a subtle sweetness that is the real thing. No artificial love here. Trust me, baby, I could drink you, all of you, till your last drop.

Running — three times a week will do ;)

But yes, no coffee, no tea and no sleeping in air-conditioned rooms. Everyday. And laughter, lots of it! :D

  • no coffee, no tea, no air-conditioning while sleeping and running. Every day. Without fail… wow.. no wonder she’s snow white ..?!!! lol.. i think i can hack no coffee, no tea, and everyday running… but no aircond — tak boleh la.. :P

  • I wish I could get the hell out of caffeine attachment, I enjoy my vices way too much. I have utmost respect for those who sees coffee as a pleasurable beverage choice, not as a necessity. I think Snow White’s got a good regimen going.

  • one or two… sometimes none… LOL

Hmm … coffee, I could do without. Same with tea. But no air-conditioning? I’m very eco-minded, but that’s my one weakness. I need my air-conditioning … ;P heheh …

Hmm … for some strange reason, I always find reading your entries … to have subtle nuances of a … more enticing nature … LOL. Just me though, I guess.

Are you still jet-setting around Asia?

    Cheers,
    Ken.

  • Your last sentence emits sensuality. ;)

  • geez .… and I thought you’re finally coming up with the 1st hanoi post … :)

    hehehehe ~oh behave~

anyway..ahem… i cant take strong black coffee (those kopitiam ones) makes me dizzy one. i prefer hot chocolate :P

  • We will just lip caress the warmth n wetness , but never finis instead just around , round and round …smoothly and serenely as tomorrow begins again

but if we were, what drink would u be? i think i will be a mocha latte, my fav drink! =)

  • I love Coffee…Coffee without sugar..
I think that coffee lovers certainly have their own way of savouring it…
    Mine would be…
With a small sip of coffee, it touches the tip of the tongue
Let it flow evenly through the tongue, through the side and the middle
When it’s about to reach your throat, swallow it gently
    Slowly, breathe out
Feel and smell the aroma which still lingers…

Is it the same like how you enjoy your coffee?
    Cheers.. ;)

  • I know coffee is stimulating, in a very different, monday morning blues way.
And this “cuppa” you are serving us is also very…errrr, let’s just say interesting…heheh…

We are not what we drink, after all.“
Wow. If we are what we drink, I wanna be Cordon Bleu. Intoxicating. HAHAHAHAHA!

  • ooh, coffee– my fav companion during afternoon study sessions, my legal addiction, my eye opener for 7am theater sessions, my source of inspiration… can we have a cuppa some time? :)

  • Oops, I am that addict! And yes, kopi-kaw for me if it is robusta coffee and coffee black for me if it is arabica. I need my coffee! Nowadays, to stay away from coffee, I try to have tea.

  • Janvier wrote:

So we’ll fail the Snow White Test — we wubs our coffee, tea and aycee.

  • i think i may opt for non eternal youth (or rather, have opted already) than give up coffee, and tea…more coffee la.
but i dont sleep in aircond anyways, so that’s 1/4 of the battle won. running.…hmm, not with the regularity snow white does it.….
then again, she’s snow white, i am grumpy…she got long legs.…easy to gallop

  • So lomantic la. Kenny Mah’s other half so lucky. Everyday got poetry.

  • coffee make me insomnia~~

  • Eh.. not really. I think some coffee is good for you. Like fruits and vege, coffee is actually also fruit and it’s antioxidant! The key word here is… “moderation”. :D

  • you can never go wrong with a cup of hot coffee in the morning

  • i’m those who can got w/o coffee for months too..but I do enjoy it when i do order/ brew one :)

Hot chocolate? Now you’re talking! I have to admit that when I was younger, I was all about Milo. No hot chocolate then. And other malt drinks like Ovaltine and Vico just didn’t taste ‘right’ vs. Milo. Then when I got older, coffee seemed to be the cool thing. Then wine tasting. Then back to the ancient rituals of tea-drinking…

But now, I’m older and very much not wiser and willing to admit nothing beats a really good hot chocolate as I keep discovering new chocolate-themed cafés and lounges. Yummy.
