Appetite

It’s barely a couple of hours after our last meal and I’m hungry again. I dig around in the pantry, hunting down a scrap of something edible.

You observe me — you have seen me doing this more and more of late — and you wryly remark, “Your appetite is getting bigger nowadays.”

I blush, like a cat caught with his master’s prized canary in his jaws. I drop the unopened packet enclosing one single almond cookie to the counter. I push it aside. “I’m not really hungry,” I lie, “just thought I’d have a snack.”

You shrug your shoulders and return to your computer. I am left alone again with my almond cookie. Should I, or shouldn’t I? Damn this appetite.

Go for it! You only live once. :)

  • @hm: Haha, I didn’t in the end — gotta learn to control my appetite or else I’ll end up having to buy new clothes all the time! (Like someone I know whose jeans keep getting tighter and tighter…) *chuckles*

  • Are you on a diet? Why is your appetite so big these days? :-)

  • @The Yum List: Nope, not on a diet — that’s the problem, I keep eating and eating all the time! Malaysia is such a food haven, it’s a bane to the waistline!

  • Heheehee you like almond cookies, just like Baby C!

I know how you feel, I always feel hungry as soon as I finish eating.

  • @Baby Sumo: Almond cookies are so very yummy — Baby C has good taste!

Your ever-present hunger must surely be a useful tool for your food blogging, yes?

You have better self control than my other half and I. Our waistlines are expanding. At least I can still wear my pants/jeans, my other half has to suck it in to take off his pants. *rofl*

  • @hm: Hahaha… Trust me, we’re not that much better off. Exercise it is, then. Bummer.

oooh, once again, the timing of your post is eerily excellent. i’ve been having a cookie craving lately. was at a press conference yesterday, and to my delight, there were gigantic milk chocolate & dark choc chip cookies galore, all of which i proceeded to gobble without guilt. the cat that eats the canary should feel no shame _ its in his nature, after all :D

  • @Sean: Hang on, are you calling me a cat, and a fat one at that? Cos if you are, that’d be… true. *sobs*

  • *finished reading Sean’s comment & your reply to him*

    Garfield? :p

  • @jemima: Me, Garfield? Oh the horrors of horrors!!

… but then again, I do like lasagne a lot. Hmm.

  • I’d tell you to control that appetite before it runs away with you, but then I remember that mine has run away a long time ago, so.

Exercise it has to be then. But it doesn’t have to be horrifying. Make it fun. Turn the music up when no-one’s home (or even when CK’s home) and dance like crazy (and CK’ll like that too, maybe even join in?)

  • @Michelle: I just did a round of kettlebell swings and squats (three sets for each exercise) at home and it feels great to sweat it out. No music though… if CK was at home he could sing some Adele, maybe? Hehe.

  • no good no good, I’m even worse than u, after finished the bowl of noodle & felt that I never eat anything >.<

  • @Choi Yen: You, my friend, are the Champ, then. Amazing. *salutes*

  • You can’t just do exercise. You’ve got to DANCE! Like a crazy man.

    Dance!

  • @Michelle: Hehe. I’ll let you in on a little secret — I used to dance. A lot. Like a crazy person, true, but still it was dancing. Thanks for reminding me of this, dear.

  • Yay! for crazy dancing! Don’t make it a “used to” thing, make it “now” thing!

PS: I could have said, “we should dance together”, but I think I’ll need to know you a whole lot more before I can show you my crazy dancing skills. Heh.

  • @Michelle: You’re right, of course — what’s to stop us from dancing, especially if it’s in the privacy of our own home?

P.S. Dancing together? Given how much of a klutz I am, it’s more likely that we’d end up bumping into each other, haha.

  • If we’re both klutzy in the same way, we might just manage to avoid bumping into each other. Ahaha.

  • @Michelle: That is true — if birds of a feather flock together, then klutzes in bad weather may miss each other! *guffaws*

  • Very funny, Kenny. Actually. My smiling man has just looked up to smile at my laughing. Heh.

  • @Michelle: Smiling Man, meet Laughing Girl. *chuckles*

  • If it implicates your health, no.

  • @Michelle Chin: I didn’t. Then Devil ate it. Damn.

  • The damn appetite is making me crave not snacks but full meals. Last night was spaghetti bolognese at 1230am:-(

  • @missyblurkit: An Italian midnight, then. *winks*

  • Argh…..I don’t want such “amazing” in me!!!

  • @Choi Yen: Don’t we all? Hehe.

  • *reads Michelle & Kenny’s comments*… *grins evilly* => Let’s ALL go dancing… T-O-G-E-T-H-E-R!!!

  • @asstha: This old man does napping a whole lot better than dancing these days, haha.

  • =.=
