I make you a promise to write. We set a date. I will finish something. I will show you. I will read what I wrote and you will read it too. You will tell me what you think, and I will listen. Then I will return to writing (or rewriting) until the thing is done. And that’s what it is, this work. Repeat.

I’m looking forward to the day when I can listen to your reading.
@B: And I look forward to the day when I have the pleasure of reading to you, my friend.
No, no, do the painting first! And then the writing. And finally the commitment for a marriage :p
@Rad: I assure you not everything you mentioned is on my To Do list. For now, it’s write, write, write.
an audiobook in progress?
@Michelle Chin: Nope. Just writing, writing and more writing.
ooo, i don’t think i quite understand what you’ve written here and why. one might require the service of sherlock to peel back the layers behind this post and decipher its true meaning :D
p.s. managed to catch a few speeches on the golden globes this morning on an online live stream. glad meryl won, but her speech was really dull & draggy. i think viola wins the oscar (boo hoo).
@Sean: Right…
P.S. I didn’t even realise The Golden Globes was this morning. I think Viola Davis will win the Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role too. Who do you think will get nominated? That list isn’t out yet, right?
i’m serious wan. this is one of the most inscrutable entries you’ve written in weeks! it’s like reading a passage out of a margaret atwood novel :P
p.s. hmmm, i guess viola, meryl & michelle are locks. but i’m torn over the next two slots, since i think any combo of glenn, rooney, charlize & tilda could happen. i think i’m gonna say glenn & rooney. the list comes out next week, to help distract us from chinese new year feasting (it’s always about 9pm-ish malaysian time) :D
@Sean: Really? It just meant that I made a pact with a friend to write and to share the results with her. That’s all. Hardly inscrutable. (Hardly Margaret Atwood.)
P.S. Hmm. I would go for Tilda Swinton and Anna Paquin in the remaining slots if I had a vote, but I do not. Ah well.
What are you writing? A book?
@Baby Sumo: Nope. Just writing. That in itself is a reward, for me. *winks*
A promise is a promise is a promise.
@msiagirl: And so it is, it is, it is. *winks furiously*
oooh, thot got maksud tersirat. your audience demands maksud tersirat! (well, maybe not everyone, heheh)
p.s. i haven’t watched both ‘we need to talk about kevin’ (though i did read the book, cos i think lionel shriver is brilliant, and her ‘post-birthday world’ is one of my favorite books ever) and ‘margaret,’ though i suppose i need to be sober for both of those movies (then again, even if i’m not, i figure they’ll MAKE me sober) :P
@Sean: Nope, no hidden meaning (maksud tersirat) here. What you read is what I mean. Heh.
P.S. I’m pretty sure those movies would make anyone sober. Have you watched Tilda Swinton in ‘I Am Love’? She is sublime, and speaking Italian throughout, with a subtle Russian accent. Amazing actress, she.
No, I’ve not managed to find a copy of that Tilda movie. I’m not actually a fan. I find her … austere. She’s great as these cold characters, but I prefer my actresses warm and sunny (think Amy Adams). I think Tilda was perfect in the Narnia movie, because she has this icy, invisible sheen surrounding her person :D
@Sean: Austere? Hmm, perhaps. But there is so much passion bubbling just beneath that veneer of austerity, my friend.
I like Amy Adams when she is feisty, as she was in ‘The Fighter’ a couple of years ago. Too sunny and it gets irksome, no?
You might consider writing a book. What with all the time you have. =)
@Michelle: Right now all I am trying to do is simply finish writing a short story that I am satisfied with. (Baby steps, dear, baby steps.)
