Museum der Phantasie

I got up bright and early to go to the central train station, Hauptbahnhof, cos we were going to another town, Bernried, to visit a brand new museum called the Buchheim Museum (named after the madman who collected all the artwork). Mostly Expressionists and some kitschy stuff, but there was a large collection of B&W woodprints I really loved. They looked like doodles I’d do. I am beginning to see how Europeans can spend so much time visiting museums.

It really is quite cool. Really.

After lunch, we went on a forest walkabout along a lake before taking a ship (a large riverboat actually) back to the train station. It was very windy and there was a sailboat race!

For dinner, being very gung-ho, we decided to go to Freising again as it was the last day of the Volksfest, but to stay much longer this time. This time we were a bigger group also, so everything was excellent.

I was the first to get on our bench to dance (the Germans were doing it, and they were appalling dancers, even if great in spirit), and soon dragged some brave comrades up with me. Those of you who have seen me in discos would know how I shameless I get, but what the hey.

Inhibitions suck. I rock!

(You can tell I had some beer in me by now.)

There was a lot of “Prost”-ing (toasting of beers) going on, and we partied so late that we had just enough time to catch the last train home.
