Jean-Michel, thanks for taking on a stranger and bringing him around you city – Montpellier was every bit as magical as you made it out to be.

The Barcelona Gang – Billy, Luke, Harry, Stefan, Melissa and others I don’t even have emails for (forward this to them if you can) – it’s been an absolutely mad time there and I have you guys to thank for it! Remember running to the harbour during the thunderstorm just to get to a club? And Melissa, do contact me when you get here!

Dallas, Morgan and Mr. Breen, had a smashing time in Paris with you three – it was some kind of luck or fate or whatever that brought us together, or maybe it was Norman, the Scottish guy who smuggled in the red wine!

Shyue Chin and Thierry, again, I had a lovely weekend with you two in Ipswich. It was ultra-relaxing, which was exactly what I needed after Barcelona and Paris.

Belinda, thanks for having me over when I turned up out of the blue at your doorstep. Cambridge was fab!

Sarah and Heidi, the two of you were very good company in Edinburgh and a source of inspiration as well. You really got me thinking on a lot of things. Thank you.

Ainara, Sebastian, Esteban – Belfast was a surprise, so were you! We should hit another Irish pub some time!

Mariann, Monika, Jacqui and Anne – the Giant’s Causeway was amazing and so were you guys! And please try to forget how shit-faced I got after my whiskey tasting – I’ve a reputation as a professional taster now…

Carsten, Janet, Bryan, Scott and Juanita – Dublin was a bit dreary for me but you three helped brighten it up. Many thanks!

Mary and Lisa, St. Christopher’s would’ve been just another Inn without the two of you. And Mary, more shark movies?

And of course, right at the end, Chris and Michael, you guys are my favourite Swiss people (ok, so you guys are the only Swiss I know, but still…) – you made my last night on the road unforgettable.

As for people I missed out on meeting – Alyna (Hamburg), Emily (Bristol), Sandra (Vienna) – I didn’t make it to there this time, maybe the next time. And Alicia, wish I knew you while I was in Barcelona, but I had a wonderful time anyway!

Whew! That was long, but very necessary. I’m not gonna forget this time travelling for a long time, if ever.
