Nice Arms

It’s early. The mall hasn’t opened yet. We have had our breakfast near your office and then you went to work. I have a full day ahead. Plenty of writing. So a quiet place – will have to be Starbucks since everything else is still closed. It’s that early.

I get my latte, a simple one without notions of multiple shots, caffeinated status or an abundance of creams and syrups. Just a caffè latte. Coffee and milk. Nothing more.

Except today’s simple coffee and milk has something more. A little extra to give my morning a kick. The server has a nice smile, generous and wide. The usual green apron over a black polo tee and a pair of khaki shorts. But I could easily be forgiven for not noticing these for there are those tree trunks of arms, those guns that can stun, those minor mountains of muscle that promise and tease while common folks like me can only gawk and adore.

I’m tempted to say “Nice arms.” but then I remember I have used that trick before.

Still. Couldn’t hurt, no?

Oooh, somebody in an elevator said to me “Nice shirt”. And, I did really like it on me. Although now I really think the shirt is very tacky and I don’t even know where it is now. Oh well it was 3 years ago

  • @Rad: Maybe that person in the elevator was admiring more than just your shirt? Ahem.

something else besides coffee to perk you? LOL!

  • @kc: Probably perked me up more than the coffee, haha.

  • LOL maybe you can try nice bum next time. ;P

  • @Baby Sumo: Ah, not a bad idea… *winks*

  • Are you always at Starbucks?

I was just at Pavilion yesterday afternoon, and was telling my partner that if ever I want to “bump into you accidentally on purpose”, all I have to do is go to Starbucks in Pavilion some time between 4-5pm. =p

  • @Michelle: I’m not always in a Starbucks… I was at The Red Beanbag and The Bread Shop too, yesterday. And today I’ve been to no cafés … so far. Hee.

Hang on — does that mean you saw me at Starbucks yesterday? Oops.

  • Plenty of writing.”

Well, I hope you wrote more than this post. :p

  • @jemima: Well, I also wrote an article about book cafés in Japan recently… Here’s the link!

  • oooo, now how does a coffee house server gain nice arms, i wonder. good genes? or perhaps there’s something in the making of & carrying of coffee that helps to build those biceps! :D

  • @Sean: Hmm, if that is true — sign me up for coffee-making classes, double-quick!

  • I usually would say nice arms and run my lecherous hands over them. Getting more daring the older I get.

  • @Paul: Oh gosh — I look forward to getting older too, then. *chuckles*

  • Just say it!

  • @Michelle Chin: Say what? Hehe.

  • No, Kenny. Doesn’t mean anything. Just means I’m trying to track you down, see if I’ll really “bump into you accidentally on purpose” if ever I’m at Pavilion during those times. =)

  • @Michelle: Hahaha… You might wanna give it a try this Friday… *winks*

OMG I don’t think so. He lived in the same apartment with his family. He was an old man regularly using the elevator. We just never talked until the nice shirt incident :p

  • @Rad: Oops. Not your target audience, then.
