The Four Faces

My first face is Wonder,
As I contemplate all that has been,
All that could have been,
All that had never been,
And everything else you told me you have seen.
I don’t believe a word you say
But still. I wonder.

.

My second face is Amusement,
As your every gesture, your every awkward step
Brings delight to my heart. I am entertained
Until you step on my foot,
You klutz. I’m no longer
Amused.

My third face is Curiosity,
You got me going like a cat,
Risking my nine lives
Simply to find uncover
Your secrets and your mysteries.
Why won’t you satisfy
My curiosity?

.

My final face could be Disgust,
A modicum of revulsion
At your lack of co-operation.
Yet it could also be a simple mask,
A weak attempt to hide my lust
For the tease of the sleaze
That is you – the sweet sum
Of my life’s happy tasks.

.

Eh. Who’s my gorgeous boy. ;)

  • @msiagirl: Uhm, I’m your gorgeous boy? *guffaws*

  • Lol. I like the twist – “you klutz. I am no longer amused”.

  • @J the chocoholic: Hehe. But it’s true in real life, how clumsy and awkward couples can be in certain instances, yet so smooth and clockwork-like in others. It’s a strange and beautiful dance.

  • I’m sure there are more than 4! Come on, show ALL the others lah :P

  • @Pureglutton: Haha, cannot show too many at one time – others may not be able to handle it! Hahaha…

  • Four Face?? This term reminds me of Erawan Shrine in Phratunam area, BAngkok :)

  • @Leo (thule): Erawan Shrine? Weren’t we just discussing losing our Erawan “virginity” en masse yesterday? Hehehe.

So who’s gonna take the lead to pop this spicy, tomyam cherry?

  • You are only one person, with one mind, one soul, one heart.. but you have many faces.. Can I tell them apart?

Many say you have the face of an angel..strong and wise..

    I look a little closer..
I can you see the devil in your eyes..

This is inspired from the comments that you & CK left on my post. :p

  • @jemima: The devil in my eyes? Or simply a devil in disguise?

I only wish I had the face of angel and the body of a devil… but I have the face of a round loaf of bread and my body’s the same shape! Hahaha…

  • you’ve mislabeled the faces lah! the first one is Coy, the second is Smug, the third is Postcoital Bliss, and the last one is … well, ok, the last one is Disgust. :P

but don’t think we haven’t noticed that Life For Beginners is slowly turning from a food blog into a cam-whoring blog! :D

p.s. today’s oscar trivia. in 1957, joanne woodward won the best actress oscar for playing a woman with multiple personalities in ‘the three faces of eve.’ but i suppose u weren’t drawing inspiration from her for this entry…

  • @Sean: Hahaha… Oh gosh, that is funny… I should have made this post a “Name Kenny’s Facial Expression” caption contest instead.

Life for Beginners is not a food blog or a cam-whoring blog – it’s just a blog, period. Jeez…

    P.S. Uhm, no.

  • or, you could invite your readers to suggest facial expressions that they’d like to see you make. and then you could post the pics of yourself attempting those expressions!

    i’d propose this one: http://bit.ly/h7nuKQ

now who says life for beginners isn’t an interactive blog? :D

  • @Sean: Mine aren’t faked. Ahem.

  • you’re not good at making facial expressions…wonder- passed, amused – failed, curiosity-failed, disgust- okay, at least i dont get to see the lust that you’re trying to hide

you need skills to put a ‘mask’ on your face
it’s not easy but i do think it’s necessary. When we’re happy, we want to show it but on the other hand, when we’re not happy, we might just want to hide it.

  • @lena: Hahaha… my expressions are less “expressive” and more stoic ma… you gotta read between the lines on my face…

  • i wonder if she can read you like a book?

  • @lena: If I were to be read like a book, I would imagine it would be a rather fast read, more like a newstand rag rather than a more substantial tome.

  • I think being a klutz is a natural part of being a couple. Being too perfect for each other sort of takes the fun out of everything.

  • @Michelle: You mean imperfection is what makes a couple perfect? Hehe.

  • final face seem more like cheeky :P

  • @rokh: Oh I’m always cheeky, hehe.
