The Sea and the Desert

It’s not really one of my New Year’s Resolutions (which might go a long way in explaining its current status of being, er, resolved) but I’ve finally uploaded a couple of stories that have been waiting to see the light of day since whenever.

The first one’s more recent, called Gold Dust and is inspired by the last song of Tori Amos’s new album Scarlet’s Walk. I’ve tried editing it, offering it to Sarah for proofreading or criticisms, but I just can’t change it. So, here it is, all desert grime and bluesunsky.

The second one’s much older, written in October, while I was backpacking across Europe. To be specific, when I was stranded in a McD’s in Basel, after travelling the whole day from London via Paris, before hitting Bern. It might be the first story I’ve written while on the road, and it’s a story about being off the road. Makes no sense whatsoever, but when did I ever? I was stuck in the middle of a continent and I wrote a story called The Sea Came In.

The sea and the desert.
