Last weekend was boring apeshit.
First time in ages, I found myself without any activites other giant truckloads of assignments to finish and midterms to study for.
Woke up in the afternoon, but it’s Monday, so it’s not gonna be good anyway. Why not linger in bed instead? When I finally dashed out of my apartment to get lunch on campus, I find a large sign greeting me at the gates:
.
日本の文化的な週
.
It’s apparently the Japanese Cultural Week.
Tell them Indians that. There’s more Bollywood and banana leaves dangling around campus than silkscreens and kimonos. Ah, what a lovely clash of cultures… and the sun’s beating down without mercy. Someone’s still undergoing snow withdrawal…
Then, suddenly, out of nowhere, there’s a strain of music in the air, and I catch these lines, “Well baby I don’t want to take advice from fools; I’ll just figure everything is cool…” and suddenly it’s 1995 again. With Liv Tyler.
Damn.
